Based on photographs I took at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert, Arizona, this image of Golden Barrel cacti is lively and impressionistic. The original won first prize in pastel at a Glendale (AZ) Arts Council show.
All my life I've drawn or painted. My primary media are oil, pastel and acrylic. Subject matter varies. I get bored with a limited range and might follow a portrait with an abstract to get into a different kind of energy. Impressionist and minimalist styles are my all-time favorites. Currently I do some private teaching as well as continuing to exhibit. I am fortunate to have been included in juried shows: local, state, national and international. I continue to focus on offering my best painting, while always searching for ways to make things better. Painting...it's what I do and some would say, with the exception of writing, my only real talent. Enjoy!
